Karsan Wins New Tender in Italy’s Campania Region

Karsan, which is on its way to becoming a global brand in public transportation, started 2025 with a new tender. Having recently delivered its 250th electric vehicle to Italy, Karsan has now won a new tender in the Campania region and signed a contract.

Karsan, which plays a leading role in the transformation of the transportation infrastructure of the world, especially in Europe, with its electric and autonomous vehicles, has made a fast start to the new year. The company’s model e-ATAK, which has closed the last 4 consecutive years as the sales leader in Europe, continues to rapidly expand its usage area and vehicle fleet worldwide. In this context, Karsan managed to stand out in a new tender in Italy, one of its main target markets. Karsan, which left behind another major milestone by delivering its 8th electric vehicle in Italy on January 250, won a new tender in the Campania region of the country, which includes the city of Naples, and signed the relevant agreement.

Karsan, Campania, will deliver a total of 42 100% electric Karsan e-ATAK buses in two parts within the scope of the contract it signed. Karsan CEO Okan Baş, who stated that Italy is a market they attach great importance to, said, “We are happy to win another tender as a 100% Turkish brand. With the delivery we plan to complete by the end of 2025, Karsan’s electric vehicle fleet in Italy will approach 300 units. With the deliveries we will make in two batches, we will have significantly increased our weight in the Campania region. We have previously delivered 8 e-ATAKs in this region, which also includes a large city like Naples. With the new deliveries, our vehicle fleet in the Campania Region will reach 50 vehicles.”

Okan Baş, who stated that the region is newly switching to electric vehicles in public transportation, said, “We are very proud that they prefer Karsan e-ATAKs in this process. Our vehicles, which will provide great convenience in public transportation in the region, stand out with their high-level travel comfort as well as their environmentally friendly structure. We recently delivered 12 e-JESTs to the Florence Metropolitan Municipality, increasing our electric vehicle fleet in the country to 250. We are happy to transform public transportation in 11 cities in 23 regions of Italy with our Karsan e-JEST, e-ATAK and e-ATA models.”

Designed with passenger comfort at the forefront, Karsan e-ATAK makes it easier for the elderly and families with children to get in and out of the vehicle with its low floor, while offering a high level of comfort to its passengers with its comfortable seats and wide seat distance. Karsan e-ATAK, which provides advantages in urban use with its 8-meter length, draws attention with its 52-person passenger capacity. Its 230 kW electric motor enables the vehicle to move effortlessly even on steep slopes under full load with the maximum torque it produces of 2500 nm, while offering a range of up to 300 kilometers. The ability of the battery to be charged in 3 to 10 hours also increases the number of trips the vehicle can make during the day.
